This Paraguay Mission began in April of 1995. The mission grew under God's direction as the Miller family lived full-time in Paraguay through 2001. The family has worked hard to establish a youth camp, "The Promiseland Camp" on a 13 acre site. In the 2000-2001 summer season, the camp was completed and opened for its first year of camping ministry. In 2001, the Miller's returned to Canada and lived there through 2006. During this five year period, Dan was a part of or lead 15 mission teams to Paraguay, Peru, and Chile with churches from the United States and Canada.
In 2005, our first children's home was built and opened on the camp property. Today we have 18 children living in our home from the ages of 3-15 years old.
In 2006, Dan Gwen and Kyle returned to Paraguay to continue their ministries there. They are now opening more children's homes and planting churces. Daniel, their oldest son now lives and works in Canada.
Thanks
I would like to thank you for the privilege and the opportunity to share with you about what God is doing through our work in the country of Paraguay. He never ceases to amaze us at what is possible when we put our trust in HIM.
A Little About Paraguay….
Paraguay is the smaller nation located in the
heart of South America between Argentina and Brazil with Bolivia to the
north. It is land locked but has access to the ocean via the Paraguay
River which begins in the Amazon River basin and flows south through
Argentina and Uruguay.
Paraguay is currently ranked by the United Nations as the poorest nation in South America, therefore I am sure you understand that the needs are great. The Church of God of Prophecy has been in operation in Paraguay since 1977. We currently have 20 local churches with a total membership of about 600.
Come back soon!
